Modulo 4: Introduction Assessments and AI in English Language Teaching

Module 4 was particularly significant because it helped me clarify concepts about assessment that I had previously misunderstood. At first, I thought I knew what terms such as diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment meant, but throughout this module, I realized that my definitions were incomplete or even wrong. This was revealing because, as a teacher, it is essential to use the right type of assessment at the right time.

Another highlight was learning about generic feedback with AI. I discovered how artificial intelligence can support teachers by providing quick, personalized feedback, something that is often difficult when you have many students. However, I also learned that AI should only be used as an assistant. Its suggestions can be useful, but as teachers, we must always supervise, adapt, and verify feedback before giving it to our students.

Overall, Module 4 showed me that assessment is much more than just giving a grade: it's about guiding learning. By combining traditional approaches with AI, I can design strategies that not only save time but also give students the feedback they need to grow.
